#RunforCREA: Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2015
CREA is participating in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon to raise funds and awareness for women’s rights to political participation, for adolescent girls to make informed decisions about their body, health and lives; for the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women with disabilities; and to decriminalise same sex relationship between consenting adults.
CREA works to build the knowledge and leadership capacity of elected women representatives and women voters so that they know about and can demand their rights. In the upcoming elections in Jharkhand, many women who are interested in participating are being misinformed and discouraged. CREA is working on-ground to myths and clear misconceptions of women’s participation. Our work also centers around developing awareness on issues related to disability and sexuality, and a political perspective on disable people’s sexual and human rights. CREA’s website on disability and sexuality, www.sexualityanddisability.org; a joint effort with the organisation Point of View, is a one-of-a-kind online space for women with disabilities to interact, learn, and find answers to questions. CREA also conducts an online English-language Institute on disability, sexuality, and rights.
We work with adolescent girls in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand to take decisions about their bodies, health and lives by playing sports.
CREA is one of the few organisations in India and around the world that works with LGBT*QI to support them advance their human rights.
CREA has registered with India Cares Foundation (ICF) and Team CREA will #RunforCREA in the half marathon under the category Great Delhi Run. You can support us by donating to us through our website.
