State-level Consultation: Strengthening Implementation of Laws on Domestic Violence and Child Marriage
CREA is organising a 'State-level Consultation: Strengthening Implementation of Laws on Domestic Violence and Child Marriage' on 6-7 June 2014, in collaboration with National Mission for Empowerment of Women (NMEW) and Women Power Connect (WPC).
The Consultation will bring together various governmental and non-governmental partners and stakeholders to share their experiences on the issue of domestic violence and child marriage, with a particular focus on strengthening the implementation of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (PWDVA) and the Protection of Child Marriage Act, 2006 (PCMA). A strategic partnership with NMEW is intended to enable state-level government functionaries and nodal agencies, such as the State Resource Center for Women, to be part of this collaborative platform and address challenges in facilitating convergence amongst different Ministries to effectively address issues of domestic violence and child marriage in Jharkhand.
The event will be attended by the project partners of CREA and WPC, Panchayat members, representatives of youth groups, government representatives, and NGO representatives and members working on issues related to domestic violence and child marriage.
