A Pull to Infinity traces Joshila’s journey with Ultimate Frisbee and shows how participation in a mixed-gender sport creates space for freedom, confidence and resistance within a deeply patriarchal context. Through her story, the project highlights how access to sports can challenge gender norms, expand agency and open new possibilities for girls in rural India.
Manini Bansal is a visual communication designer and photographer whose work engages with wildlife conservation and social impact. She specializes in translating complex research into clear and engaging visual narratives. Based in Bangalore, she facilitates nature-based education workshops and is also an Ultimate Frisbee player. She hopes to see more women on playgrounds across India.
Joshila Kumari is an Ultimate Frisbee player from Kotra Block, located 100 km from Udaipur, Rajasthan. She has always found purpose in play and considers it a basic right of all children, especially girls. She holds a bachelor’s degree in arts and has completed a rigorous two-year iDiscover Fellowship. Her dream is to represent India on the national Ultimate team.
