What is RECONFERENCE?

RECONFERENCE is a global feminist convening organized by CREA, bringing together movements, mobilizers, storytellers, artists, filmmakers, scholars, and others shaping resistance across borders. With participants from over 60 countries, more than 40 speakers, 20+ exhibits, and a diverse line-up of films, it is a deliberate and intentional space to RETHINK, REWORK, and RECLAIM ideas and spaces together.

When and where will RECONFERENCE 2025 take place?

RECONFERENCE 2025 will take place from 8 to 10 December 2025 in Kathmandu, Nepal, at the centrally located and accessible Soaltee Hotel, which will host all plenaries, sessions, and exhibitions. Following a site visit and consultations with local partners and authorities, CREA is confident that Kathmandu remains a safe, smooth, and inspiring location for the convening. What are the official languages of RECONFERENCE?

English, Hindi, Nepali, Spanish, French, Bengali, Arabic, and International Sign Language.

What topics will be covered at RECONFERENCE?

RECONFERENCE will focus on nine core themes:

What formats will RECONFERENCE include?

RECONFERENCE will feature plenaries, teach-ins, strategy circles, workshops, lightning talks, book launches, films, art and photography exhibitions, and large-scale installations.

I have not registered to attend RECONFERENCE. Can I still attend?

No. RECONFERENCE is restricted to participants who have registered.

Will interpretation and/or captioning be available?

Yes. For several events and exhibits, we will offer live interpretation, sign language interpretation, and accessible formats. However, due to the nature of some formats, such as films, content may only be available in English.

Will there be sign language at RECONFERENCE?

Yes, there will be sign language interpreters at the conference.

Is RECONFERENCE an accessible event?

Yes. RECONFERENCE is committed to accessibility. We have partnered with an accessibility audit organization to help ensure that our spaces, formats and participant support systems meet a range of access needs wherever possible.

When should I plan to arrive and depart from Kathmandu?

We recommend arriving by Sunday, 7 December. The event concludes on the evening of 10 December, so plan your departure for 11 December or later.

Do I need a visa to travel to Nepal?

Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality. Many travelers can obtain a visa on arrival, while others may need to apply in advance. Please check the latest visa requirements for your country before traveling.

What meals are included during RECONFERENCE?

If you are staying at one of the RECONFERENCE hotels, all meals from dinner on 7 December to breakfast on 11 December will be covered. If you are a day participant, your registration includes lunch, tea/coffee, snacks, and dinner on all three days (8, 9, and 10 December).
