Feminist Opportunities Now (FON) is a global initiative (2022–2026) dedicated to strengthening feminist movements to end gender-based violence.

Funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), the consortium is led by IPPF Africa Region, with CREA, Empow’Her, FIDH and Médecins du Monde.

In Asia, CREA leads FON’s work in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, supporting 45 feminist organizations through flexible grants and sustained accompaniment. FON creates innovative funding mechanisms with a focus on small and informal groups driving bold, community-rooted interventions.

From Dalit and Indigenous women’s groups in Bangladesh to LBTQI+ activists, sex worker unions, Free Trade Zone workers, women with disabilities and Muslim women’s collectives in Sri Lanka, partners are driving change where it’s most urgent, combating gender-based violence, dismantling stigma and expanding access to justice, safety, and rights.

CREA brings a feminist political lens to the project, providing tailored support in community-based accountability, advocacy, project design and movement-building. Across both countries, FON is more than funding: it’s a platform for feminist resistance, power and solidarity.
