Following a tribute to Miriam Makeba or as she was popularly called ‘Mama Africa’ whose voice and extraordinary leadership has contributed greatly to the women’s movement, Geeta Misra, outgoing President of AWID and Executive Director of CREA opened the AWID Forum with a strong statement on the power of movements.
