Anti-Gender Ideology - videos

CREA develops publications and knowledge resources, in English and Hindi, in the fields of sexuality, reproductive health, gender, and human rights. These publications foreground global South perspectives and reduce the paucity of resources for Hindi-speaking activists and organisations.

All these resources and materials are made available here on the website, and are mailed out to the organisations and activists that CREA works with and disseminated through various other channels.

CREA has been engaging on this issue since 2017. In particular, by creating convening and thought leadership spaces through its global dialogues to create an opportunity to develop critiques and delve into the meanings and implications of “gender ideology” from a feminist perspective. It has been our continued effort to develop various forms of knowledge resources with some of the foremost academics and thinkers on this issue to make information on this complex topic more accessible to a wider audience. This film, produced by Sonia Correa for CREA’s reconference, 2019, is one such effort.

Since the late 1970´s Sonia Corrêa has been involved in research and advocacy activities related to gender equality, health and sexuality. She is currently a research associate at the Brazilian Interdisciplinary Association for AIDS, in Rio de Janeiro, and visiting Leverhulme Proffesor at the LSE Department of Gender Studies. She also co-chairs Sexuality Policy Watch (SPW), a global forum comprised of researchers and activists engaged in the analyses of global trends in sexuality related policy and politics. She has extensively published in Portuguese and English. The list includes, among other, Population and Reproductive Rights: Feminist Perspectives from the South (Zed Books, 1994) and Sexuality, Health and Human Rights, co-authored with Richard Parker and Rosalind Petchesky (Routledge, 2008)
