This visual essay in water-colours focuses on Nimmi’s mother, Mini – Bahujan woman and first-generation learner – who became an ASHA worker after surviving decades of oppression.
Nimmi is an artist and writer based in Kerala. Her poems and illustrations have been published in various Malayalam journals. Creating art has always given her a sense of building space for herself. For her, art is an integral part of survival and healing. Her dream is to become a children's book artist.
